More Moto X users out there can now update their smartphones to the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system version, as the new platform release has started to arrive on T-Mobile’s version of the device as well.

Motorola has been pushing the update to Verizon’s customers for a few days now, and has officially announced the availability of the update for Moto X devices on T-Mobile’s network.

Yesterday, the company also started to invite AT&T users to test a new firmware for the Moto X, and is expected to provide them with a taste of KitKat shortly.

In a recent post on Motorola’s blog, Steve Horowitz, SVP software engineering, not only confirmed the availability of the update for T-Mobile’s Moto X, but also provided some specifics on what the new firmware would include in terms of new features and enhancements.

Following the update, users will be able to take advantage of a new phone dialer, which enables them to search for contacts straight from the dial-pad and easily see and tap on the contacts they get in touch with most frequently.

At the same time, Android 4.4 KitKat will bring along some new gallery effects, including Posterize, Highlights, and Edges. Users will also be offered the possibility to use the Draw feature to write on their photos.

Android 4.4 KitKat comes with a new Hangouts application, putting all of users’ conversations in a single place, including texts, video calls, and other chats, and allowing them to send animated gifs and location info.

Other changes in the new update include Color Emoji in the Google Keyboard, drag to focus and expose in the updated camera, restyled status and navigation bars, new full-screen mode, and more.

Owners of a Moto X on T-Mobile’s network will receive a notification on the availability of the new update, and will be able to install it following the on-screen instructions.
