Mobile phone maker Motorola has announced yet another promotion for its popular Moto X smartphone, offering it at only $339 (€245) to students.

Moreover, the company has unveiled a series of new designs for the device, so as to provide users with brand new customization options when buying the handset.

Included in the College Collection, the new Moto X color options will provide users with the possibility to showcase their favorite school colors.

The new customization capabilities are available through Moto Maker, the popular portal that has already provided users with the possibility to personalize their Moto X devices in the manner they best considered it fit.

“Now, you can express your school spirit too! Just in time for the tournament, we’re introducing the College Collection, a range of college-inspired Moto X customization options that allow you to showcase your favorite school colors,” Ravi Thakkar, group product manager, Motorola, notes in a blog post.

“We took a look at college colors across the board and added nine new back colors and three new accents to our Moto Maker palette so you can create the ultimate fan phone.”

The College Collection design gallery is available starting today, offering various pre-configured school color combinations, as well as clear cases with school logos and team names. Options for around 40 schools have been included there, and more are coming, the company says.

It also explains that the aforementioned clear cases for the device are, in fact, officially Licensed College cases by Uncommon, and that they are available at an additional cost.

Users interested in purchasing a new color version of the Moto X will have to pay $399 (€288) for it, if they want to grab it without signing for a contract agreement. These phones are also available on contract, at $49 (€35).

For students, however, the Moto X is cheaper. Users who are looking to grab the phone and are currently in college should register at motorola.com/college with a valid .edu email address (mandatory), and they will be able to buy the phone at the aforementioned $339 price, off-contract.

“The College Collection is just one of the many ways to get customization inspiration for your Moto X. Visit the new design gallery curated by our Moto Maker team and designers for more ideas and create yours today,” Motorola notes.

The new color options for the Moto X, along with the previously existing ones are available through the Moto Maker. Users are provided with the possibility to create their own personal cases for the device as well.
