A new version of the Moto X smartphone is now available for purchase in the United States, packing no less than 64GB of internal memory, after the phone went up for sale last year with 16GB and 32GB of storage inside.

The new device variant was released yesterday, June 8, after the mobile phone maker had confirmed it only a few days before.

Moreover, the handset was released alongside a new promo deal for those interested in Moto X devices, called Try Then Buy, which allows them to drive-test the device for two weeks for free.

Motorola announced that it would hold the promotion for only 24 hours, but that all those who would register would have to pay only one cent for being able to enjoy the capabilities of Moto X for 14 days.

“We’re letting you customize a Moto X to try at home for two weeks—all for $.01 to start, and regardless of whether or not you’re on a contract now. Hurry, participation’s limited,” Motorola notes on its website.

The new Moto X with 64GB of internal memory appears to have been included in the promotion too, which is certainly great news for enthusiasts.

The new high-capacity variant of the smartphone will provide users with the storage space they need to keep their files close to them at all times.

“Stop deleting. Keep the videos, photos, and music you want when you customize a Moto X—now with 64GB of memory,” Motorola notes.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Moto X was launched without a microSD memory card slot, which means that users have the means to expand the available internal memory.

The rest of the smartphone’s hardware specifications remain unchanged from the previous models, including a 4.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display capable of delivering an HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels) and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with Adreno 320 graphics, complemented by 2GB RAM. Moreover, it packs a Li-Ion 2200mAh battery inside, capable of offering up to 13 hours of talk time, or up to 576 hours of standby time.

On the back, Moto X sports a 10-megapixel camera with LED flash, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution. A 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go was also included.

Moto X was released with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, but it has already received upgrades to the latest Android release out there, namely Android 4.4.3 KitKat.
