Moto X, Motorola’s flagship smartphone of last year, is almost one year old, and the company is expected to make a successor to it available in the not too distant future, one that might provide users with some appealing new features, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The mobile phone emerged online for the first time several months ago, yet no official confirmation on it has been provided as of now.

The general consensus, however, is that it will be launched in the form of Moto X+1, and this is the device that has made it to the headlines once again.

Info coming from TK Tech News suggests that the handset will arrive on the market with a camera capable of recording videos in 4K resolution, a feature that only few smartphones sport at the moment.

A video that supposedly demoes the capability is also available for your viewing pleasure, though its quality is not as high as you might imagine, most probably due to YouTube’s compression process, as PocketNow notes.

However, the video doesn’t look as convincing as one might expect, especially with the phone appearing to have a bit of a trouble maintaining focus.

Of course, the guys over at TK Tech News claim that the handset is still a prototype, which would explain why its performance capabilities are not that high at the moment.

The upcoming Moto X+1 is said to be a bit larger when compared to last year’s Moto X, while also said to be more powerful than this device.

In fact, a photo that TK Tech News posted on Instagram appears to confirm that the handset will be larger than its predecessor, most probably packing a 5-inch or larger touchscreen display.

Previously, the mobile phone was also said to be capable of delivering a full HD 1080p resolution, up from the 720p screen present on Moto X. However, an official confirmation on the matter has yet to be provided.

Should these reports on the Moto X+1 pan out, it remains to be seen what price tag the phone will feature when released.

Moto X was highly appealing courtesy of its affordable price tag, yet it did not include top hardware specs either, which helped Motorola keep its cost down. However, Moto X+1 appears poised to include high-end hardware inside, which could result in an increase in price.

Hopefully, some more details on the matter will be provided in the not too distant future (Moto X will celebrate its anniversary next month), so stay tuned to learn the news.
