Recently, mobile phone maker Motorola was rumored to plan the release of a successor for the Moto X handset, and some more info on the matter is now available.

Said device was previously rumored to hit shelves as Moto X+1, which clearly shows that it will be based on the already available handset, although it does not appear to be the best inspired market name for a smartphone.

According to a tweet from infamous tipster @evleaks, Moto X+1 will arrive on shelves with no less than 25 back plate options, including wood and leather finishes.

Considering the vast array of customization features that Motorola might pack the handset with, we can expect it to become available for purchase through the Moto Maker website, just as the Moto X did last year.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when the new device might arrive on shelves has been provided as of now, and details on its pricing are missing as well.

Hardware-wise, the new phone should prove more powerful when compared to its predecessor, though it remains to be seen how exactly Motorola intends to beef it up. A larger screen, faster processor, and a better camera on the back are the best guesses here for the time being.
