Mobile phone maker Motorola has been long rumored to plan the release of a new flavor of its Moto X handset, and it seems that the phone could go official at the end of the next month.

A recent article on Droid-life claims that the new device, which will supposedly be called Moto X+1, will be officially announced at Verizon Wireless in the United States on September 25.

The news site also notes that the rumored launch date falls somewhat in line with the previous reports on the matter, which suggested that the phone would be launched sometime in late summer (technically, the summer will end on September 22).

Moreover, they note that, while this info refers to the Verizon model, no info on the launch of other flavors of the device has been provided as of now, and chances are that they will become official before September 25.

Moto X+1 is rumored to arrive on the market with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 graphics, and 2GB of RAM.

Moreover, the handset should include a 5.1-inch full HD screen, a12-megapixel rear camera, and a 2900mAh battery. It should run under the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system right from the start.
