Over the past several months, mobile phone maker Motorola has been rumored to be working on the release of a successor for last year’s Moto X handset, and newly-leaked images that allegedly depict the device have emerged online.

The smartphone, long said to arrive on shelves under the name of Moto X+1, hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, despite a flurry of leaked info on it.

The new images with the device, available courtesy of Android Police, show that Motorola might release it with about the same design as the Moto X, just as previously suggested.

Moreover, it seems that the new device will come with a series of customizable back covers, just as its predecessor did, including bamboo ones, as you can see in the photos embedded below.

Rumor has it that Motorola will also pack it with a silver-colored segmented ring around the edge, and it seems that this aluminum frame will be the only metallic part that the outer case will sport.

Moreover, the mobile phone is expected to arrive on shelves with a 5.1-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, which would make it much larger than the Moto X (which features a 4.7-inch display).

The handset will not sport capacitive buttons on the front, though it will include a loud speaker beneath the screen, it seems.

The Motorola logo on the phone’s back cover appears to be made of plastic, unlike the one present on Moto X at the moment.

Moto X+1 is also expected to sport dual-LED flash, something that can be seen in the leaked images with it (the two white dots next to the camera).

Apparently, the upcoming device will be equipped with a Snapdragon 800 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, yet no microSD card slot will be available as means to expand the available storage.

At the same time, the handset should feature a 12-megapixel camera on the back, paired with a 5MP front camera. Moreover, Moto X+1 is expected to be powered by a 2900mAh battery, while running under the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.

One thing that you should keep in mind, however, is the fact that the phone hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, which means that you should take the info above with a grain of salt for the time being.

No specific info on when the new handset might become official has been provided either, and there is no telling when it might become available for purchase, or at what price tag.
