Mobile phone maker Motorola is reportedly getting ready for the release of a successor for the Moto X smartphone that landed on shelves in summer last year, and rumor has it that it might call this new device Moto X + 1.

The info comes from infamous tipster @evleaks, that has a great track record when it comes to leaking info on unannounced devices, though it should still be taken with a grain of salt, since no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.

Of course, it does not come as a surprise that Motorola is working on a successor for the popular handset, especially since the phone is only a few months shy from its first anniversary.

However, it remains to be seen whether the company will indeed go for the Moto X + 1 name for it or will choose something simpler in this regard, such as Moto X2.

No info on the hardware specs of the upcoming device has been provided as of now, though we’ll certainly see a variety of upgrades inside it, along with improved performance capabilities.

One other thing that remains to be seen is whether Motorola will manage to release the new phone with a low price tag attached to it, given that this was one of the main selling points of Moto X, in addition to the great deal of customization options that it landed with.
