Moto G, the affordable new Android-based smartphone from Motorola, is expected to become available for purchase in Canada as soon as tomorrow, November 22.

The handset was made official last week, but wireless carriers in Canada have already confirmed plans to launch it this month, and leaked info that emerged over at MobileSyrup has now unveiled the exact release date.

Furthermore, the leaked document reveals that the new mobile phone will be available for purchase via TELUS with a price tag of $200 (€142) attached to it, contract free.

Those who would like to purchase it with a contract will receive it for free, though they will have to commit to a two-year agreement for that.

Although an affordable device, the Moto G does pack appealing hardware specifications inside. It was launched with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, and with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor inside.

Furthermore, the new device sports 1GB of RAM inside, along with 8GB / 16GB of internal memory, and no microSD memory card slot (free storage via Google Drive will be available for its owners).

On the back, the new mobile phone sports a 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording capabilities, paired with a front camera that allows users to make and receive video calls while on the go.

The specifications list of the device also includes 4G HSPA 850/1900/2100 connectivity, support for Quad Band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS receiver.

Moto G is powered by a 2070mAh battery that can deliver up to 14.2 hours of talk time. The phone measures 129 x 65.9 x 11.6mm and weighs 140 grams.

When launched in Canada, the smartphone will run under Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. However, Motorola will provide users with an update to the Android 4.4 KitKat OS flavor in January next year.
