Mobile phone users in Canada interested in the purchase of a Moto G smartphone can now head over to WIND Mobile for that.

The handset was officially confirmed for this wireless carrier last week and can now be yours for $229 outright. Those who would like to sign up for a contract agreement when purchasing it will be able to do so as well.

WIND has put the device up for sale for $0 upfront on its $40 plan but also allows users to purchase it at $129 on its $30 plan. At the same time, it will offer discounts to those who will trade in their older devices, it seems.

As MobileSyrup notes, however, WIND Mobile is not offering the smartphone at the lowest possible price out there, as other carriers have it for less, it seems.

However, WIND is offering the 16GB flavor of the mobile phone to its customers, while others have the 8GB model available (it would still be a great idea to check their offerings, nonetheless). You can see the device listed on this page on the wireless carrier’s website.

One way or the other, Moto G remains the same cheap yet capable mobile phone that Motorola made official last year.

The smartphone arrives on shelves with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.

Moreover, the handset features 1GB of RAM, the aforementioned internal memory options, and a 2070mAh battery inside, which should offer pretty decent usage times.

Moto G was also announced with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, capable of recording videos in HD resolution, as well as with a 1.3MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Furthermore, it offers support for HSPA+ networks, GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and built-in GPS receiver. The handset can also be used as a portable mobile hotspot.

The handset runs under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system (it was launched with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS but has already received an upgrade to the newer platform), but also packs a series of software customizations coming from Motorola itself.

“Exceptional phone. Exceptional price. The Moto G has 16GB of memory, the sharpest 4.5" HD display in its class, all-day battery, quad-core speed, Android 4.3 with guaranteed upgrade, and available colorful backs to make one all your own,” WIND Mobile notes on its website.
