Earlier this week, mobile phone maker Motorola has unveiled to the world a new flavor of the Moto G smartphone, one that comes to shelves with support for 4G LTE networks, and info on the handset’s arrival in Canada is now available.

Just as previously reported, the phone will be released in the country on the networks of wireless carriers Fido and Rogers, with the former confirming that the device will be available starting June 17.

In a recent tweet, Fido has unveiled not only the official release date for the device on its network, but it has also shared some more details on its pricing.

“Starting June 17 the new Moto G LTE will be at Fido! Get it for $50 (€33) on a 2-year Tab24 agreement on a Standard plan,” the carrier has said.

Users who would like to purchase the new mobile phone without a contract agreement will have to pay $225 (€151) for it.

As MobileSyrup notes, Motorola has already confirmed that Moto G was one of the most popular devices in its lineup, with over 150,000 units sold in Canada, and chances are that the new model will follow the trend.

As mentioned above, the Moto G LTE will be released in Canada on the network of Rogers as well, though the wireless carrier hasn’t provided specific info on the device’s availability.

However, the company has confirmed that it will release it at $0 on a two-year contract. Those willing to purchase the phone outright will have to pay $224.95 for it.

In addition to featuring 4G LTE capabilities, the Moto G LTE also arrives on shelves with a microSD memory card slot inside, which will allow users to expand its 8GB of internal memory, something that was not possible with the original model.

The rest of the smartphones hardware specifications will remain unchanged when compared to the original, starting with its 4.5-inch touchscreen display capable of offering a 720p resolution.

Moreover, the mobile phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM.

The phone also arrives on the market with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, with LED Flash and support for HD video recording, complemented by a 1.3MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

Moto G LTE runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right from the start and is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 2070mAh battery. It also comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.
