Major carrier Verizon has just confirmed that the Moto G will be available through its official channels beginning early 2014.

According to a tweet by the carrier, Motorola Moto G will be available on prepaid for a price that will be announced closer to launch. The smartphone will not be packed with LTE support, but instead it will offer customers HSPA+ connectivity.

It's unclear whether the Moto G will be launched at Verizon with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box or it will ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Either way, Motorola confirmed that the KitKat upgrade would be available for Moto G in January 2014, so those purchasing the smartphone through Verizon won't have to wait too long for the new build to arrive.

We suspect Moto G will be available at Verizon for prices starting at $180 (€135) outright for the 8GB model. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
