It won't turn off otherwise, assuming I'm reading things right

This is one of those inventions that crop up from time to time and have the main purpose to make everyone stop and tilt their heads in wonderment.

Designed by Industrial Designer William Lee, the item in this photo isn't a construction beam or concrete block, but a lamp.

That's right, the silver-grey object is a lamp. A desk lamp, one of those that lets you do your paperwork without having to turn on the ceiling lights and pretend that it's not night outside.

There are 60 LEDs, and the main advantage is that no cord is used to power them. Instead, it has a battery that can be recharged over USB.

Most importantly though, the device can be turned off just by knocking it over. Perhaps not the most graceful of solutions, but it is new, I'll give it that.
