Fallout 3 was one of the biggest titles to appear last year, bringing RPG and shooter fans a taste of a wide and vast post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with unique characters, an intricate storyline and, most importantly, a lot of enemies.

But while the title, created by Bethesda, delivered a huge and quite long experience, players were left wanting more action, and thus the studio released several DLC packs that contained new adventures for the Lone Wanderer.

The last of the planned series of DLC will be Mothership Zeta, which will exchange the grim and desolate wasteland with the high-tech feel of an alien space ship. Talking about this new piece of DLC, which will arrive today for the Xbox 360 and PC platforms, Jeff Gardiner, the lead producer of Fallout 3, revealed that it would be much like the first three add-ons, as combat would play a big part.

“Mothership Zeta is similar to the first three DLC in that it's combat-heavy, but the ship itself is more open, with multiple objectives that can be completed as the player sees fit,” Gardiner said. “We thought it would be a very unique environment to explore, a far cry from the dust ravaged wastes of DC. The lead designer, Emil Pagliarulo, and I are interested in Alien conspiracy theory... There's a lot of information to sift through on the internet, while neither of us is quite sure what to believe it makes for interesting coffee conversation.”

Starting with the exploration of the alien crash site located in the Wasteland, the main character will be beamed up and thus a space-themed odyssey will begin. As the aliens don't have the most peaceful intentions, the Wanderer will have to free everyone and put an end to their evil plan.

Talking about the looks of the aliens and of the other enemies present in this new DLC, Gardiner said, “Some of his friends are just like him. There are also new alien robots, as well as other creatures we can't quite reveal just yet. I feel we definitely maximize on the new enemy types. The combat and level design in Mothership Zeta is some of the best we've ever done.”

Overall, look forward to Mothership Zeta today when it will be released on the Xbox Live and the Games For Windows Live Marketplaces.
