Mother of 16-Year-Old Courtney Stodden Approves of Marriage to Doug Hutchison, 51

Until yesterday, not many knew of Doug Hutchinson and Courtney Stodden, but all that changed when they announced they were married, despite the age gap that separated them. Stodden’s mom is now speaking up to defend the May-December union.

As we also informed you the other day, Doug is 51 and Courtney is 16, but they insist there is no hidden agenda to their marriage: they are in love and want to prove that to the world.

One of the theories about their marriage circulated in the press is that Stodden only did it to boost her profile because she needs the media attention to launch her music career.

He, on the other hand, only married her because she’s young and not bad looking, it was being said.

None of that is true, Courtney’s mother says in a statement to Radar Online: the marriage happened because the two are in love, there’s nothing fake about it.

“We are totally supportive of this marriage. Doug is a wonderful man and we love him. They are very much in love and we are so supportive of this,” Krista Stodden says, defending her daughter’s choice.

“Courtney was a virgin when she married Doug. She is a good Christian girl,” the model / aspiring singer’s mom adds.

As for claims that her surgically enhanced daughter is as fake as the marriage, which she only agreed to because she wants some publicity she wouldn’t get otherwise, that’s just likes, Krista fights back.

“She is a beautiful girl. She has real breasts, real lips, she’s not plastic,” she says.

Of course, Krista’s statement did nothing to appease those commenters who still believe Courtney is lying about many things because she wants media attention, starting with her real age to just how natural her body is.

Many also believe that only by marrying a D-list actor and stirring up a controversy could she command this kind of media attention for her music, which wouldn’t sell in a million years.
