An 11-year-old girl has been penalized for twerking by being told to hold a sign to apologize.

Frances Hena of Bakersfield, California, tells ABC News that she believes her daughter is way too young for the suggestive dance.

She thinks the routine is inappropriate for a minor, therefore should be banned by the school.

“I was disrespecting my parents by twerking at a school dance,” the cardboard sign reads.

Jamie Hena only had to “serve” 2 hours displaying the sign in the busy California and Union intersection. She is now banned from going online, as that is where she learned the dance.

The incident that worried Frances took place at a dance, and a friend told her about it. She was surprised to realize that school officials did nothing to stop it.
