Kim Kardashian has repeatedly said that nothing in her life is off limits when it comes to showing it or discussing about it on camera and the first time she went on the pill is no exception. She made the revelation on Oprah's Next Chapter.
Oprah sat down with the entire Kardashian clan for an interview that, she hoped, would allow the world to better understand and perhaps accept the Kardashians. At least, that's what she said.
She also did a one-hour interview with Kim separately, in which they talked about her marriages, her most recent split from Kris Humphries and the controversial way in which she rose to international fame.
During the interview with her two sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, and brother Rob, Oprah asked Kim about the first time she went on the pill – and she revealed she was just 14 and her mother told her she must take it.
Video of that segment of the interview is below, embedded at the end of the article.
Kim explains that she'd been dating her boyfriend for about 2 years and that he was already part of the family when she first started thinking about getting intimate with him.
Because she and her mother (and manager) were always as close as they are today, she went to her first to talk about taking her relationship to the next level.
“I was almost 15,” Kim told Oprah, saying she went straight to her mother.
“I was like, 'I think I’m going to, or I want to,' and she was like, 'OK, so this is what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna put you on birth control,' and she was like, really open and honest with me,” Kim continued.
Oprah failed to press the issue farther, saying just “wow!” before moving on to another subject.
As we also informed you the other day, in the same TV special, Kim insists she did not stage her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries for the sake of publicity, adding that she was totally depressed for 4 months after she filed for divorce.
“I was in such a deep depression I thought I was going to back away from everything. I stayed at home for almost four months and I'm a better person now, as heartbreaking as it was to go through,” she explained.
Kim Kardashian is now dating rapper Kanye West – and she told Oprah hearing his music on the radio is the “highlight” of her day.
