Vizio and LG are right behind it, but not on the same level

LCD TVs are still the most widespread type of television set, which means that they are the lifeblood of many businesses.

Samsung's LCD division makes lots of money off LCD TVs, and the company obviously knows this, active in that field as it is.

In fact, the company sold so many LCD TVs in the first half of 2013 that it held its top spot as supplier in North America. It was followed by Vizio and LG electronics.

Moving forward, Samsung intends to further solidify its lead by shipping even more TVs in the second half of the year.

Price wars are making it easier for people to buy as well, since cheap doesn't mean weak anymore, at least not always.

North America will be second just to China in terms of TV market size in 2013. Naturally, Samsung wants to make the best of this.
