Futuremark has just released a version of SPMark for the general audience. This is one of the most evolved releases coming from this company when it comes to testing mobile phone software capabilities.

The last XXMarkXX series of benchmarks released until now by Futuremark has been welcomed and appreciated for its performances. This newly released evolved version has as a main purpose testing the battery life performances of a mobile phone, among other features.

This version of SPMark comes as a follow-up of SPMark 2004, which was created especially for Symbian v6, v7 and v8 operating systems. The new release concerns only the Symbain v9 enabled phones, but its performances can be compared to the ones of the previous benchmark version.

SPMark for Symbian v9 comes in two versions. The free ones feature testing options for 3D gaming and theoretical tests concerning the mobile phone's performances. On the other hand, the SPMark Pro offers options for customizing the levels at which the benchmark actually works.

Futuremark corporation is one of the most appreciated company that provides options for testing the performance of PCs and handhelds. Among their most highly regarded products, there are 3DMark, PCMark and SPMark, which offer solutions for best measuring the performances of different devices.

This new version of SPMark is available for download at Futuremark's website for free. For this program to run properly, the phone must have 1.5MB of free memory space and 3MB of memory available while it runs.
