After revealing to the world that a Mortal Kombat game is coming to the PlayStation Vita, developer NetherRealm and publisher Warner Bros. have now confirmed that the title will arrive at the beginning of May.

The Mortal Kombat reboot impressed millions of fighting game fans last year on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, bringing the age-old franchise back into the spotlight.

With the release of the PS Vita last month, NetherRealm and Warner Bros. want to bring the same experience on the new handheld.

We've already heard a few details about Mortal Kombat on the PS Vita earlier this year and now a release date has been pinned on the upcoming title.

Vita owners will be able to experience the fighting game, alongside its special features designed to make use of the platform's abilities on May 1, in North America, and May 4, in Europe and the rest of the world.

More details will appear until then.
