Warner Bros. announced last month that it would bring its upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat X to mobile devices sometime in April.

Since the PC and console versions of the game were confirmed to arrive on April 14, we thought mobiles would get Mortal Kombat X a few days after that date.

However, in a surprising move, Warner Bros. has unleashed Mortal Kombat X on iOS platform. Even though the publisher promised that the game would be available on Android as well, it has now stated that it will come soon to Google Play Store.

It's unclear when exactly the Android version will be available for download, but Apple might have paid a certain amount of money for a few days of exclusivity.

Anyway, iOS users will now be able to download and play Mortal Kombat X on their devices. The good news is that the game is available for free, so you won't have to pay anything in order to engage in mortal combat.

Play on mobile to unlock rewards on console version

Keep in mind that, while playing the mobile game, you will be able to unlock exclusive rewards for console version of Mortal Kombat X, including ultra rare characters such as Klassic Kitana and Injustice Scorpion.

Likewise, playing on the console will unlock rewards for the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X. There's no mention of the PC version though.

You can now download Mortal Kombat X for iOS for free via App Store. The game should be fully compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices powered by iOS 6.0 and up.

It's also worth mentioning that the game will not work on devices with less than 1GB of RAM, such as the iPod touch and iPhone 4S. Also, you will need at least 1.5GB of free space in order to install Mortal Kombat X on your iOS device.
