The development team at NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Entertainment are delivering a new video for Mortal Kombat X, which finally reveals the existence of fan-favorite Kano as a playable character in the coming fighting game.

The existence of the protagonist has been rumored for some time but the two companies have not offered info on it before.

The new footage shows a battle of Kano versus D'Vorah and reveals the potential variations of the character, with series creator Ed Boob offering commentary on the combat sequence.

Kano will be able to use some of the abilities that he has had access to over the years, including the laser eye, his headbutt, and his powerful combat knives, and players will be able to deliver some truly impressive combos and use the environment to their advantage.

The only problem is that all those who choose to use the character will be unable to gain access to all his abilities at the same time, which will probably annoy some long-term fans of the fighting games.

Mortal Kombat X will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft, last-gen consoles, and the PC at some point in 2015.
