Video game developer NetherRealms Studios and publisher Warner Bros. are launching a new patch for all versions of Mortal Kombat X, designed to introduce some important fixes for the fighting title, while also adding more costumes.

The official announcement does not offer too many details about the changes made, but gamers should get an improved overall experience, especially on the PC.

Those who had problems when Mortal Kombat X launched because of the Steam download process are also getting access to a lot of Koins they can use in the Krypt however they see fit.

On home consoles, players will be able to use a Klassic skin for Sub-Zero.

The studio has not said whether it aims to offer more free content linked to the game when future patches arrive.

The new costumes added for compatibility purposes to Mortal Kombat X are: Pharaoh Ermac, Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile, Revolution Kano, Motherland Sonya, and Tundra Sub-Zero.

When it comes to core fixes, gamers should be able to see some changes to gameplay, although a full list has not been introduced, while also getting better stability online.

It is also easier to invite players to multiplayer matches on all platforms, which is very important for a title that it focused on player versus player engagements.

Mortal Kombat X is designed to continue to appeal to gamers in the long term

The development team needs to continue to listen to feedback from the community in order to make sure that it catches all the bugs and imbalances and fixes them as quickly as possible.

Presumably, the two companies are also aiming to make sure that the delivery system for new content on the PC is improved so that problems such as those seen on launch do not occur when new DLC is coming.

NetherRealms and Warner Bros. have announced a solid post-launch schedule for the title, focused on the introduction of new characters and skins.

Mortal Kombat X has managed to impress a lot of gamers with its core mechanics and its story, which manages to be both outrageous and engaging.

When it comes to the long-term evolution of the title, a lot will depend on whether the fighting game community adopts it for its big event in 2015.
