The team at Warner Bros. in charge of the Mortal Kombat universe is apparently collaborating with a new company called Blue Ribbon Content in order to create an entirely new live action series based around the fighting game universe.

At the moment, no details are offered about its story or the characters that will be included but rumors are saying that both old and new faces will be presented in an innovative way.

According to Game Informer, the new live action series might be delivered around the launch date for Mortal Kombat X.

The new title form NetherRealm Studios is at the moment set to arrive on April 14 of next year on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and last-gen consoles.

It's unclear whether the narratives of the two products will be linked in any clear way.

The video game is designed to offer a new take on the series, with familiar mechanics for long-term fans and some innovation that build on the work that the studio has previously done on the Injustice experience.

Each character in Mortal Kombat X will have three versions, each designed to emphasize one play style, and gamers will also have a lot of ways to interact with the environment in order to hurt their enemies.
