It seems that movie developer Warner Bros. is getting ready to put into full production a reboot of the movie series based on the Mortal Kombat video game, which will have Johnny Cage star as the main character.
Total Film reports that the movie is in the initial stages of development and that the plot will see the character start out as a supermarket employee who begins to learn about his super powers and his combat skills.
He is then linked to a quest, presumably to defeat a number of other super-powered characters from the Mortal Kombat universe in order to save Earth and loved ones from destruction.
Lance Sloa, an executive at Warner,
stated, “We’re preparing right now for the film with Kevin Tancharoen, directed the digital series for us. He’s at the helm of the forty, fifty million dollar film."
