The recent Mortal Kombat reboot will get its first piece of downloadable content next week, when Warner Bros., its publisher, and NetherRealm, its developer, will unleash the classic costume and fatality pack for the fighting game.

As many fans know, Mortal Kombat received various pre-order incentives from plenty of North American retailers, each offering access to classic costumes or fatalities for fan favorite fighters like Sub-Zero, Reptile, Scorpion or Mileena.

As you can imagine, plenty of people got upset, because they couldn't get all of the special items at one particular retailer.

Now, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have officially announced that a special downloadable content pack will be released next week, bringing all of the pre-order goodies in one whole package.

The classic skins and fatalities include "seven pre-order klassic character skins for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade and Kitana and klassic fatalities for Reptile, Scorpion and Sub-Zero."

Mortal Kombat was praised by many for its proper take on the long-running fighting franchise, with the title taking full advantage of its M-rating to display gruesome fatalities, but also used special stereoscopic 3D functionality to make the game playable both in 3D and enjoyable in 2D at the same time, for those who don't have enough special glasses to go around.

This new DLC pack will be made available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, through the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace, respectively.

Those who want to experience these classic items will have to pay $4.99 (£3.19) or 400 MS Points, in order to download the special pack for Mortal Kombat.

If you want to see the special skins, costumes or fatalities, you're in luck, as Warner Bros. and NetherRealm have released a special video that depicts all of these things in action, during Mortal Kombat fights.
