By now, it's all too clear that Morrissey could not possibly stand being in the same room with a bunch of people who have no respect for animals. Hence his deciding not to make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year simply because the cast from “Duck Dynasty” would have also been there.

By the looks of it, Morrissey is so dead set on sticking to his convictions that he would also pass up on romance.

In his “Autobiography,” which is expected to soon hit shelves, the musician details that, at one time, he walked out on a first date because his partner turned out to be a meat eater.

“As his food order arrives I stare intently at what appears to be a sloppy dish of dog food on his plate. I therefore automatically stand up and walk out of the restaurant,” Morrissey writes in his book, as cited by Ecorazzi.

“Suddenly you come to a certain situation and you are unable to live with it, and the only protest you can make on behalf of the butchered animal is to depart the scene,” he further explains his decision to walk out on the date.

Luckily, the meat eater, i.e. Jake Owen Walters, was brave enough to follow Morrissey to his home, and things turned out more than all right.

As the musician explains, “He obviously understood my sudden exit, and he had been curious enough to follow me home. He steps inside and he stays for two years.”
