The official website of South Africa’s Department of Health (doh.gov.za) has been breached and its homepage defaced by hackers of a group called Moroccan Islamic Union-Mail.

On the defaced page, the attackers posted a message in which they accused the country’s government of supporting the Polisario front. They also “remind” South Africa that the “Sahara [is] Moroccan and will remain Moroccan.”

At the time of writing, the website of the Department of Health has been taken offline. A mirror of the defacement is available on add-attack.com.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time doh.gov.za is hacked. The website was defaced back in October by a Moroccan hacker calling himself “Moroccan Agent Secret,” a member of Team M.A.S.

Moroccan Islamic Union-Mail is not the only group targeting the systems of African governments. Moroccan Ghosts are also defacing websites with similar protest messages.
