Hackers of the Moroccan Ghosts group have breached and defaced 12 websites belonging to various Vietnamese government institutions.

The affected sites include the ones of the CỤC THÚ Y – Department of Animal Health, the National Committee on Ageing, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Ninh Binh Province, and the Vinh Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

Many of the sites are hosted on the main domain of the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs.

The hackers have told HackRead that the attacks against the Vietnamese government will continue until it stops supporting the Sahrawi Polisario Front, a rebel movement whose main goal is to end Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.

“We are not here to ask you why and what you gonna win by supporting Polisario front but to tell you that this is our first attack on your government websites and be sure, take it as a challenge we won’t stop until we see the change,” the hacktivists wrote on the defaced websites.

What’s interesting about the defacement page is that it’s a scanned copy of a handwritten note.

Currently, some of the sites have been restored, but most of them are either offline or still defaced.
