On the 29th of July, numerous celebrities will gather up at a private villa in Laguna Beach, California, where they are expected to take part at this year's SeaChange Summer Party.

Although it may be that guests to this event are in fact attending a party, the main drive behind this event is so much more than mere socializing over a glass of whatever.

Thus, the SeaChange Summer Party is supposed to be a fundraising opportunity meant to provide Oceana, the non-profit environmental organization, with some much needed money.

As well as this, those who have dedicated their lives to protecting marine ecosystems are to be publicly acknowledged and celebrated.

Apparently, throughout the past five years, this annual event has helped raise more than $5 million (about €4 million), all of which went into ocean conservation.

Amongst the celebrities who have already announced that they would be here on said date are Morgan Freeman, Jeff Goldblum, Kristin Bauer, Ted Danson and Rachel Harris, and many others.

Look to the Stars reports that, during the event, the guests will be able to enjoy both a cocktail reception and a sit-down dinner, and that the landscapes nearby the villa will also be open for their exploring.

In order for the aforementioned funds to be raised, party organizers agreed on holding an auction.

Those who wish to save the environment and end up going home with a green souvenir can choose between a 2012 Fisker Karma electric sports car or a one-week trip on the world's largest Catamaran around the Caribbean region.

From where we stand, it is a good thing that celebrities are getting more and more actively involved in environmental campaigns, especially because their popularity can help raise more awareness and perhaps even convince other to go green and help safeguard our natural world.
