Morgan Freeman is the latest celebrity to join a Human Rights Campaign on marriage equality, having agreed to narrate the first TV ad explaining the importance of allowing same-gender couples the right to be legally wed.

Above is the ad and, trust me, it’s as visually stunning as it’s touching.

“Now, across our country, we’re standing together for the right of gay and lesbian Americans to marry the person they love,” Freeman says in the ad.

“And, with historic victories for marriage, we’ve delivered a mandate for full equality. The wind is at our back, but our journey has just begun. Join us,” the actor continues.

Freeman has one of the most instantly recognizable voices in the industry, which probably weighed heavily in the balance when he was chosen for this particular voice work.

He also voiced God in the past, which has already prompted pretty serious headlines, like “‘God’ Is Now Supporting Gay Marriage” on Gawker.
