Morgan Freeman is again making the headlines for issues pertaining to his personal life, after he also did so when he and an alleged mistress were involved in a car crash that eventually led to the discovery of their relationship and to his wife filing for divorce. This time, the actor has reportedly scandalized his entire family when it was uncovered that he had been having an affair with his 27-year-old step granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, as

US tab The National Enquirer first broke the story, saying it had already had confirmation of the affair from very reliable sources right from within the family. Moreover, the publication claims, this has been going on for many years, ever since E’Dena was still a teen – and more or less against her will. A rep for the family and a publicist for Morgan Freeman were unavailable for the comment by the time the Enquirer ran the story.
“Morgan Freeman, 72, has allegedly been carrying on an affair with his step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, 27, according to the National Enquirer. The report alleges that the affair began when Hines was in her teens. Freeman and his second wife, of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, filed for divorce in August 2008. According to Now Public, Freeman had taken his granddaughter to the Hollywood movie premiere of ‘A Dark Knight,’ just prior to his divorce filing, and witnesses said the two were ‘unusually close’.” The Examiner writes.
According to other reports in the media based on the Enquirer story, E’Dena initially tried to fight off Morgan’s flirtatious innuendoes but, at one point, she simply succumbed to his advances. As fans must know, he and his now-estranged wife were in an open relationship, but even she was reportedly shocked about the discovery.
Myrna Colley-Lee was Morgan’s second wife, with whom he has a daughter. He also has an adoptive daughter from the previous spouse, and other two children from a relationship before that. E’Dena Hines is believed to be his adoptive daughter’s child.
