Microsoft brags about its cloud-based productivity service

Back in May, Microsoft proudly announced that its cloud-based Office 365 Home Premium reached the 1 million user threshold, claiming that the popularity of its productivity service is growing at an impressive rate.

Now the tech giant claims that these figures more than doubled in the last couple of months, so the Home Premium flavor of its suite now has over 2 million subscribers.

While this is clearly good news for Microsoft, it’s also an indication that people have finally started embracing cloud services over standalone software, obviously following aggressive marketing campaigns and lots of promotions launched by the parent company. Office 365 Home Premium is available to users for only $99 (€77) a year and allows them to access the built-in productivity tools on up to five devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
