Every operating system and computer architecture has its highs and lows, but if you can move on to something better than
what you've already got and still be able to use the operating system you have been using for years, what would you choose? Of course, we're not talking about money now, I suppose you had an upgrade for your PC in mind anyway and your budget is not really tight. After all, if you can work faster, you should earn more, right?
So...what's the big deal and why are so many people switching to Apple these days? According to Macnn, new research has shown that the number of new users to the Mac platform is expected to keep rising. 20 Apple specialist stores worked with the research firm Piper Jaffray and their study revealed that 25 percent of the Mac buyers are purchasing Apple computers for the first time, and their number is expected to rise. The reasons of this expected rise? First of all, it is said that the "halo effect" of the iPod is pushing forward Mac sales, but the popularity of the Boot Camp software shouldn't be forgotten either.
As usual, the studies are not the same as the claims of the manufacturers involved, and Apple stated that 50 percent of the customers who got Macs from its retail stores were "switchers" that never used a Mac before. Obviously, almost all of them come from the Windows PC camp, but "From Windows to Mac"...that's another story! General Mac sales increases are also expected, and the specialist stores are fully loaded with iPods to face the shopping season the right way, after several weeks without iPod shuffle and nanos in stock.
