Since it's one of the world's biggest and best-known CE manufacturers, it should come as no surprise that Panasonic brought a very large number of products to CES 2011, including several different series of Full HD camcorders.
So, beside the 3CMOS devices we've talked about earlier,
Panasonic also revealed a new series of ultra-compact Full HD video cameras powered by 1-MOS sensors, namely the HDC-SD40, HDC-TM40, HDC-HS80, HDC-TM80, HDC-TM90 and HDC-SD90 models.
The most advanced models in the series are the HDC-TM90 and HDC-SD90, that also offer users the ability to
record video in 3D with the addition of Panasonic's 3D Conversion Lens, an accessory added over the 28mm wide-angle lens the camcorders come equipped with.
Plus, the camcorders also sport ultra-telephoto 40x Intelligent Zoom that uses Panasonic's Crystal Engine PRO, a feature shared with the next two models in the series, the HDC-TM80 and HDC-HS80, which boast ultra-telephoto 42x Intelligent Zoom and a 33.7mm wide-angle lens.
All of the models mentioned above feature advanced touch-screen operation, a new HYBRID OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) system, iA (Intelligent Auto) with Face Recognition, and also an Eco-Mode.
Last, but certainly not least, we'll also have to mention that Panasonic also released the ultra-compact HDC-TM40 and HDC-SD40 models, touted as being the company's lightest full-HD camcorders, weighing approximately 0.39lb.
All six models can record to SDXC/SDHC/SD Memory Cards, while the HDC-TM90 and HDC-TM80 and HDC-TM50 also come equipped with 16GB of internal flash memory, while the HDC-HS80 includes an 120GB HDD for additional storage.
"Panasonic's new line of HD camcorders offers something for everyone, from the ultra-lightweight and affordable SD40 and TM40, to the wide-angle lens and telephoto zoom of the HS80 and TM80, all the way up to the to the 3D recording capabilities of the TM90 and SD90," said Chris Rice, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
"These six HD camcorders shoot exceptionally-well in low-light and, with Panasonic's image stabilization, allow even novice shooters to capture stunning video," added Mr. Rice, without providing any info on pricing and availability, unfortunately, these details being revealed, in typical Panasonic style, 30 days prior of the set date.
