Microsoft encourages all users to make the move to Windows 8, but it seems that early adopters of the new operating system aren’t quite satisfied with its features.

A survey conducted by forumswindows8.com, an online community focused on Windows 8, revealed that Windows 7 remains one of the most popular operating systems, even when it comes to users of other Windows iterations.

No less than 53 percent of those who submitted their vote selected Windows 7 as their favorite Windows flavor, while Windows 8 reached the second position with only 25 percent.

Windows XP was the third with 20 percent, while other Windows versions accounted for 2 percent.

The biggest disappointment for Windows 8 early adopters seems to be the price, as 35 percent of the voters said. System requirements arrived second with 26 percent, while incompatibility issues reached the podium with 25 points.

There are some users however who are pretty satisfied with the new operating system and the feature they like the most is the fast boot and shutdown, as 55 percent of the forum users voted. The easy installation is clearly a top feature, said 50 percent of the users, while Internet Explorer is for 35 percent of them the most important tool of the new OS.

Microsoft, on the other hand, hopes to move all users of the previous Windows versions to the new Windows 8, as soon as the OS becomes available.

Windows XP remains a top choice across the world, but the company has already developed several upgrading methods regardless of the currently installed version.
