We were reporting yesterday a rumor regarding a possible release of the highly anticipated Street Fighter IV on PC systems, along with the "must-be-released-on" PlayStation 3s and Xbox 360s. The rumor is, starting today, officially confirmed and, as it usually happens during this kind of situations, even more details regarding the game have followed (unfortunately, these are mostly confirmations of previously rumored stuff such as new characters, graphics and such, but it's always good to have everything grouped together).

So, the legendary fighting series will be back to the original system that played a huge role in turning it into a real phenomenon - PCs - and it's also planning to go to the roots when it comes to gameplay. Because people loved Street Fighter for what it was and there's no need to change something that works perfectly, right? This means that fans will get the chance to experience the traditional "2D" Street Fighter six-button gameplay and the classic characters from the previous titles, including the beloved Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile.

Also, a few new characters will make their way into the franchise: Crimson Viper, a female super spy who has no problem with kicking everybody's arse; El Fuerte, a lucha-libre wrestler that won't be playing when it comes to throw punches, Abel, a mixed martial arts expert and Rufus - a really enigmatic person. Also, the six-button gameplay will bring us a host of new things, too, such as Focus Attacks, Super Combos, and the revenge-fueled Ultra Combo system! This means that we're going to get the best experience ever and all of them as 3D characters! Those who will, however, fight in a 2D perspective, will bring Street Fighter IV even closer to the classic title. We would've loved a release date, too, but we have none. We're happy to know the platforms, though, and it's enough for now.
