The smartphone should become official next month at MWC 2014

Sony Mobile has some great new features in store for its customers with the release of its next flagship smartphone (the Xperia Sirius, aka Sony D6503), and some of these have started to be detailed, courtesy of various leaks.

Following the availability of a series of photos with the device and screenshots with its interface, a new set of images is now available for your viewing pleasure, offering additional details on what it will have to offer.

The leaked screenshots come from XperiaBlog and confirm the fact that the upcoming Xperia Sirius will arrive on shelves with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform loaded on top right from the start.

At the same time, one of these shots unveils that Sony will pack the handset with 4K video recording capabilities, one feature that was previously expected to become available inside Xperia Z1. There’s also the Timeshift video feature that the company will include inside the smartphone, it seems.

The device’s screen will come with a Glove mode, as well as with a White balance application, the leaked images unveil.

Other features that users will certainly enjoy in the upcoming handset include Smart backlight control, which ensures that the screen is on when using the device without touching it, and Smart call handling, enabling users to answer/dismiss calls using motion gestures.

Moreover, the upcoming smartphone will arrive with double tap to wake screen capabilities, a Dialer with built-in answering machine, and two new home launchers.

In the Settings menu, users will find Audio options for “Audio accessories” and “Hi-res Audio via USB,” along with new personalization options, including some for notifications and status bar icons.

The leaked screenshots also unveil the phone’s launcher, the adoption of KitKat design elements, updated applications, a “Close all” option in Recent apps menu, and more.

Sony D6503 is expected to become official as soon as the next month during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and it should sport a 5.2-inch touchscreen, along with a 2.3GHz quad-core processor.

The phone is also rumored to feature 3GB of RAM inside and 16GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

It will also come with a 20-megapixel camera on the back, as well as with a 2MP front camera for making video calls. It also appears confirmed with stereo speakers and the S-Force engine, which should enhance its entertainment capabilities.
