Rumors on a Sprint-bound Samsung Galaxy S Pro emerged into the wild a while ago, with a series of images with the device leaked around the Internet so as to prove the device is as real as it can be. Following previous info on the handset, more specifications on it have been brought to the light recently, suggesting that the Galaxy S Pro indeed lives up to its name.

According to a recent article on Android Central, a “tipster” sent in some new info on the Samsung Galaxy S Pro, suggesting that it has all the chances to prove one of the greatest devices brought to the market during the ongoing year. The sliding keyboard on the phone has been confirmed, along with the Android operating system and with the 1GHz processor.

The rumored specifications list of the new mobile phone includes a Samsung/Intrinsity ARM Cortex A8 processor clocked in at 1GHz, a Super AMOLED touchscreen display that apparently boasts a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, coupled with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with 1x optical zoom and 720p video recording capabilities and with a front facing VGA camera for video calls.

Other known specs of the device include 512MB of RAM, 8.2GB of ROM, support for EVDO Rev. A. and WiMAX connectivity, and WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n capabilities. The device is said to be shorter and narrower than the HTC EVO 4G, while the slider mechanism should prove very smooth, with the keyboard firm when pressed, although they seem to be made out of plastic.

On the software part, the source mentioned the TouchWiz 3.0 user interface, coupled with Android 2.1, and with the usual Sprint solutions pre-installed, including Sprint TV. The device comes with support for H.264 and Divx video. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S Pro is said to have all the necessary features to impress, though it still remains to be seen when it should land on the market, or the price tag it would sport. Keep an eye on this space for further updates on the matter.
