Motorola Droid seems indeed to be turning into the next big thing when it comes to Google's Android operating system. The handset is expected to become official with Verizon within the following weeks, hopefully before this week is over, and should deliver a wide range of great features, including a speedy processor, Android 2.0, a large touchscreen display, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper.

Verizon Wireless is expected to make the phone official on October 28, only two days from now, and we've already had the chance to take a look at Motorola Droid's specifications, as well as at a series of images with it that surfaced over at BGR. This time around, the news site has come up with more details on the handset, as well as with a series of new images with it. A Motorola Droid accessory walkthrough is also available and can be seen at the bottom of this article.

The Motorola Droid has been recently rumored to be only one of the Droid handsets that Verizon plans on releasing on the market. The company's entire Android lineup is expected to come with the Droid name attached to it, and the Motorola phone should prove the most advanced handset of them all. According to BGR, no other device of the kind will emerge in the following months, which might prove rumors regarding the Android-powered HTC Dragon – Passion as false.

One way or the other, the Motorola Droid shouldn't make us wait too long before it comes to the shelves. The guys over at BGR are getting ready to deliver a review with it, and you can see a few more images with the phone there, as well as some of their first impressions on the device. There are no details on when the handset will be officially unveiled, but we hope that the October 28 launch date reports will pan out and that Verizon will make the phone available in the very near future.
