The number of mobile devices set to land on the market with an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip inside is increasing fast, and Motorola should be among those companies which would use the silicon in a new, appealing device.

Motorola Olympus, a name that already emerged a few times before into the wild, is said to be the first handset from the company to include Tegra 2, though it might not be the first even smartphone to come to shelves with the chip inside.

Some of the most recent rumors around the Internet pointed at a, LG device that would run Tegra 2, complementing it by a 4-inch touchscreen display.

Motorola was previously rumored to plan the release of an Android tablet PC that would sport the Nvidia circuitry, and, while that might have not changed, it appears that future smartphones from the company would also sport the solution.

A recent article on Android and Me points at some more details on the Motorola Olympus, and suggests that the mobile phone would run Android 2.2.1 on a Tegra 2 silicon.

The handset is reportedly sporting the codename of MB860, and should arrive on shelves in the United States on the airwaves of AT&T (the same as we've heard before).

Currently, the device is only in the pre-production phase, while being expected to arrive on shelves in early 2011, though specific details on it released date lack at the moment.

Among the info that Android and Me brought to the Internet on the upcoming device, we can count the fact that it would sport Motorola's Motoblus user interface on top of the Android platform.

Here's what the news site lists: “UserAgentString : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; en-us; MB860 Build/Blur_Version.4.0.1450.MB860.ATT.en.US Flex/P013) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1”

Of course, specific info on the matter lack at the moment, but, provided that the rumors will pan out, we should hear more on this in the near future. After all, most of Motorola's Android devices leaked into the wild ahead of their official launch.
