Last week, we learned that the NSA purchased a 12-month subscription for VUPEN’s exploits service. MuckRock, the organization that brought the collaboration between the US government and the controversial security firm to light, has made other similar requests.

First, public information service MuckRock.com made a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for copies of NSA contracts containing keywords or phrases such as “CNA,” “CNO,” “CNE,” “CND,” “computer network defense,” “computer network exploitation,” “exploits,” “computer network operations” and “computer network attack.”

In addition, MuckRock has requested NSA contracts with Endgame for the past 5 years. Endgame Systems is a secretive cyber security contractor whose former CEO has recently urged US lawmakers to allow companies to “hack back.”

After seeing the new requests, VUPEN CEO Chaouki Bekrar noted on Twitter: “Response to these new FOIA requests will be epic as well. Pandora’s exploits box is now open.”
