You've probably heard about Unsolved Crimes before - an exciting project developed exclusively for the little Nintendo DS. What you weren't told in the first place is the fact that developers Empire Interactive consider their title a "new type of game" for the handheld. And, in order to prove us they're right, they decided to offer a bit more details on their product.

Unsolved Crimes is an adventure video game mixed with bits from the action genre and the mental challenges of a 3D crime investigation title - just that and it's enough to understand that indeed we're talking about a brand new game type. But there's even more!

First, the story (you probably already know a few details about it): you play the role of a young rookie detective in the Homicide division who must solve the mysterious kidnapping of an aspiring model called Betsy Blake. But, as any real detective, you will have to do a bit more than that: in addition to the on-going kidnapping case, you will have to solve eight independent cases just to be sure that you fully understand that working as a detective is not really a piece of cake, as you see in the movies. Also, five action games (related to the main plot) will be available to bring you an even bigger challenge.

Another interesting take on the genre is the way Unsolved Crimes accesses Nintendo DS' touchscreen: utilizing the stylus, you'll be able to trace marks, routes and memos on suspicious items, in a way you've never seen before. However, finding clues won't be too easy, since you'll have to be vigilant and use all your powers of deduction to find them. And that seems to be pretty exciting.

But, in order to feel the full experience, you'll have to wait a bit more: until this fall, when the game is released for a recommended price of ?29.99.
