Owners of Android devices out there can now download a new mobile game, namely Monument Valley, which has already proved highly popular on Apple’s iOS devices.

The title has been available on iOS for about a month now and managed to top over half a million downloads in the timeframe, which indeed makes it a popular game.

One thing that should be mentioned right from the start, however, is the fact that this is not a free game, but that users interested in enjoying its capabilities will have to pay $3.99 for it.

Monument Valley is a puzzle game, centered on guiding princess Ida through an amazingly looking world of complicated architecture.

“In Monument Valley you will manipulate impossible architecture and guide a silent princess through a stunningly beautiful world,” ustwo, the company behind the application, explains.

“Monument Valley is a surreal exploration through fantastical architecture and impossible geometry. Guide the silent princess Ida through mysterious monuments, uncovering hidden paths, unfolding optical illusions and outsmarting the enigmatic Crow People.”

The team behind the game also notes that they were inspired by minimalist 3D design and optical illusions in creating this game, and that palaces and temples from around the world also contributed to the creation of the scenery.

Moreover, they explain that each and every monument in the game is unique, and that it was built as a hand-crafted world waiting to be explored.

However, despite the complicated architecture present in the game, users will find it quite easy to play, as all they need to do is to twist and drag in order to reshape the world. Thus, they will also be helping Ida to explore.

According to ustwo, the mobile game has been “designed to be easy for everyone to pick up, enjoy and complete.”

Monument Valley will also offer a customized sound experience to users, as the audio features of the game will react to the manipulation performed on the world so as to provide a surreal and beautiful soundscape. For the best possible experience, players should use headphones.

Moreover, the title comes with cloud support, which means that their progress can easily be synchronized across devices.

One other important thing to note here is the fact that Monument Valley was created with optimizations for both smartphones and tablets, so that users could receive a great experience regardless of the device they own.

Monument Valley for Android can be found in the Google Play store today, with support for all devices running under Android 2.3.3 and up. At the moment, it features version number 1.0.5.3.
