A male baby sloth born little over a month ago, on September 21, at Zoo Budapest is growing stronger every day.

Keepers say that the tiny creature has grown accustomed to sharing an enclosure with six other sloths, including its maternal grandmother and his father, but that it much prefers staying close to its mom.

The latter is named Lili and this little bundle of joy is her first offspring, Zoo Borns reports.

However, Lili appears to have little trouble looking after it, especially given the fact that the baby sloth does little except eat and sleep while holding tight to its mother's body all day long.

The baby sloth, its mother and the rest of the family are all on display at the New World tropical exhibit.

Conservationists explain that, unlike other species, sloths are quite tricky to breed in captivity. This is because they only start mating once they reach the age of 3.5 – 5 years, and their gestation period lasts for about 44 to 50 weeks.
