A Montana television station issued a zombie warning just hours ago. The announcement alerted viewers that the dead were coming to life and were extremely dangerous. KRTV, the network in question, has already apologized.

Gawker has the video.

The announcement came during the Steve Wilkos Show, when a calm voice warned that “dead bodies are rising from their graves.” These zombies should not be engaged in any way because they were dangerous.

KRTV says this was the work of a hacker.

“Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that ‘dead bodies are rising from their graves’ in several Montana counties. This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency,” it says.

An investigation is now underway to determine how this happened.

Meanwhile, Gawker is putting it out there that this could be a viral ad for a movie, or even for a show like “The Walking Dead,” which just had its mid-season premiere.

The Zombie warning in Montana was amateur. The one on WBUP in Michigan last night even had the crawl/script on the screen as well as the voice. It then directed viewers to get battery powered radios as the TV station may ne taken off the air
