Anxious about the upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens 3D animated film that DreamWorks will release in March 2009? You wish a mobile game based on the movie would be launched at about the same time? That's just perfect, because Glu, the well-known North American developer, has teamed up with DreamWorks, and the result is a Monsters vs. Aliens game that will indeed hit mobile phones next year.

Details about the upcoming game are scarce for the moment and there are no screenshots available. However, the game will almost surely feature all the main characters from the movie: Ginormica, Missing Link, the jellylike B.O.B. and Dr. Cockroach.

Monsters vs. Aliens represents the second gaming collaboration between DreamWorks and Glu, the first one being related to "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa," which should be released as a movie and a mobile game on November 7 this year.

"We're excited to build on our relationship with DreamWorks to bring the mobile game based on this highly-anticipated film to mobile gamers worldwide," stated Jill Braff, senior vice president of Global Publishing at Glu Mobile. "The movie plot lends itself perfectly for a mobile game, and our production team is working closely with the DreamWorks team to bring the story and monstrously funny characters to mobile."

Chris Hewish, head of Interactive for DreamWorks Animation SKG, further said, "Glu's demonstrated success as a world-class developer and global publisher make them the ideal partner to bring Monsters vs. Aliens to mobile. We're pleased to expand upon our relationship with Glu to create the mobile game based on this valuable property."

Starring famous actors like Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett and Kiefer Sutherland, DreamWorks' Monsters vs. Aliens is presented as the first animated movie to be fully shot in 3D and it looks like it will be a blockbuster. We shouldn't be surprised, then, if Glu's Monsters vs. Aliens becomes one of the most popular mobile games of next year.
