A giant animal carcass is leaving locals and scientists alike guessing since the remains of the creature have washed up on a shore in New Zealand.

A video of the carcass, dubbed “Strange Pukehina sea creature” has been posted on YouTube and relayed by Grind TV, while officials are still unable to solve this puzzle.

The remains were found on Pukehina Beach in the Bay of Plenty, and they belong to an animal that was most likely attacked.

“Can anyone identify what it is? It has a huge head and teeth with rudimentary flippers. It seems about 9 meters (29.5 feet) in length but the lower part of the body is probably mainly entrails from an attack,” the uploader writes.

Some marine biologists believe that we are looking at the remains of a killer whale, or orca, as whales are no strangers to the area.
