Monster Island is undoubtedly one of the most popular Windows 8 games available in the Store right now, so you should be pleased to hear that Miniclip is offering it with a freeware license for a limited period of time.

The game is now up for grabs at absolutely no cost from the Windows Store, bringing a total of 225 levels in 4 different islands, while many more are to be included in the coming releases, the developers promised.

In addition, it includes 12 different heroes, leaderboards and achievements, according to the official description of the game.

“Monster thugs are on the loose harassing the inhabitants of the colorful world of Monster Island. Now, it's up to you and your arsenal of mini-monster bombs to get rid of this plague of unwanted visitors. Can you stand against such mischievous foes?” the game description reads.

Of course, Monster Island can be used on desktop and tablet versions of Windows 8 too, so Windows RT support is also offered.
