14 DAY TRIAL // The developers who are handling the Western launch of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate are ready to offer more information on the most powerful creatures that gamers will be able to face in the coming title, with the toughest boss for gamers to take out now named Apex Seregios.
The official company blog explains that it was important to capture the way the Japanese names conveyed the power of the monsters that players need to hunt and they settled on the Apex name because it managed to come close to the original meaning.
Capcom says that “New to the Japanese version of Monster Hunter 4G are monsters that can, like the hunters, overcome the Frenzy and use it to grant themselves unimaginable power.”
The same creatures will be known as Apex in the English translation and the most capable of them will be Seregios.
The developers also explain that the originally called Feral Wyvern Virus is now known as Frenzy and gamers will have to deal with its effects on creatures during the first half of the title.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate aims to deliver variety and solid mechanics
The new village that gamers will be able to travel to and explore is called Cheeko Sands, described as a “bright, sunny beach-side village that’s run by a Wyvernian Village Chief. Oh, and the only inhabitants of the village are Felynes. Even the markets and armory are run by Felynes! If you’re a cat person, this should definitely be on your places-to-go list!”
The hunting grounds around the location are made up of marsh and grasslands where the vegetation has grown to create a Primal Forest.
The creatures that inhabit it include a variety of capable predators:
- Najarala – which can burrow, paralyze the player, throw scales at him and detonate them;
- the Tidal subspecies – with water-based attacks;
- Nerscylla – a sort of spider with poisonous spikes and the ability to web the player;
- the Shrouded version – wearing the hide of a Khezu to protect itself.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be offered in both North America and in Europe on February 13.
